Member Spotlight: Gabrielle Ulit Serving with ContactLifeline




At ContactLifeline, Gabrielle has been providing mental and emotional support to those who call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Gabrielle has had the opportunity to expand her knowledge in th e mental health field while providing support to those in need. She is proud of being able to use her passion for helping people as she continues to serve as a Crisis Call Center Counselor at ContactLifeline.


When asked about notable people she has had the opportunity to serve alongside at her host site, Gabrielle shared, "I'm thankful for the ContactLifeline Crisis Services Coordinator, Karol Robertson. She has played an important role in preparing me for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Her dedication in training me and making sure I am ready to take on this crisis call center role has not gone unnoticed. Jackie Cousin, the ContacLifeline Executive Director has also helped me tremendously, ensuring that I am well trained before starting at the crisis call center. Aside from Karol and Jackie, I am thankful for the volunteers I have had the opportunity to serve with while they mentored me as a new team member."


Gabrielle is now halfway through her 10-month service term. Looking back on these past five months, she reflects, "I am glad to have been given the chance to gain more experience and expand my knowledge in the mental health field."

After her service term ends, Gabrielle plans on continuing her journey in the mental health field. She hopes to pursue her passion by finding a long-term career in the field that allows her to help others. She shared, "I don’t know what the future holds, but having the opportunity to serve as a Healthy Minds Alliance AmeriCorps Member at ContactLifeline is something I will never take for granted and will cherish for a lifetime."
