What are the two Tracks of the Healthy Minds Alliance Program?
Healthy Minds Alliance is an innovative AmeriCorps program. This program is split into two different 'Tracks'.
We currently offer two program tracks:
Track 1: Legacy Program
Mental Health Trainings
A community-based approach to the national mental health crisis, this initiative utilizes evidence-based programs designated by the host site including Mental Health First Aid, QPR, SafeTALK and other evidenced based programs. Members then certify members of the public, bolstering the community’s capacity to meet local mental health needs. This includes outreach to the community for course participants, disseminating the mental health trainings, advocating for mental health awareness, and assisting the host site with ongoing mental health community initiatives and events.
Track 2: PHA Program
Crisis Call Centers
Healthy Minds Alliance is placing Public Health AmeriCorps members to serve with crisis call centers throughout the country, to provide expanded support to meet challenges faced by these centers after the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline shifted to the 3 digit number 988. AmeriCorps members are trained by the partner crisis call center in evidence-informed crisis intervention and suicide prevention, to provide direct and immediate support to individuals accessing the local crisis call center’s suicide prevention calls, texts, and chats.
What does "being a Host Site" mean?
Health360 recruits for AmeriCorps members to serve at our partner host sites. The Healthy Minds Alliance is an innovative AmeriCorps program that builds organizational capacity to address local mental health needs. Our partners include universities, school districts, health care systems, mental health centers, AHECs and other community based organizations across the nation. How does Health360 fit in?
Health360 leads Healthy Minds Alliance in partnership with AmeriCorps. We handle the administrative requirements of running an AmeriCorps program so that you can focus on building effective programs that improve people’s lives.
Recruitment:
Our agency manages a majority of AmeriCorps member recruitment - posting the position on job boards, conducting first round interviews, and passing qualified applicants to the site for second interviews. Host Sites have the final decision on who will be given an offer.
Reporting & Training:
Health360 manages the reporting and data required to run an AmeriCorps program. Our teams will also lead onboarding and ongoing trainings for the AmeriCorps members placed in host sites.
Site & Member Support
Each of our Host Sites are assigned an AmeriCorps Specialist as their point of contact. Our team will schedule time to meet with Site Supervisors and Members bimonthly to check in, discuss any updates or changes, and to provide ongoing support.
Administration:
Health360 manages payment of the member’s stipend, education award, health insurance coverage when applicable, access to mental health counseling and support.
What is the Host Site responsible for?
The Host site will continually support the member throughout their service term, and will meet with our AmeriCorps Specialist team regularly to provide updates from the field!
Host Site Supervisor:
The Host Site is required to appoint a host site Supervisor - someone on staff who the AmeriCorps member will report to. This person will also meet regularly with their member and ensure they are supported throughout the term.
Onboarding at your Site:
The Site Supervisor will manage the members' onboarding at their host site - going over policies, introducing them to the team, getting them set up on site - as you would any other new member of your team!
Host Site Fee:
The upfront cost of hosting an AmeriCorps member. Our agency then handles the members' stipend, healthcare, training costs, educational award, etc. throughout the service term.
Ongoing Member Support:
